What shared web hosting here includes, and what it does not

A plain description of the service you would be buying: what is in the box, what is not, and where the limits are.

What “shared hosting” means

Your website, its database and its email addresses live on a server that also hosts other customers. Each customer has a separate account with its own files and logins, and you never manage the server itself. That is why shared hosting costs a fraction of renting a server, and why it suits business sites, blogs, portfolios and small shops.

The trade-off is that the limits matter: how much storage you get, how many websites, mailboxes and databases the account can hold, and how much traffic the plan allows. Those limits are what the plans on this site differ by, and they are listed in the comparison table.

What the control panel gives you

Every plan includes the DirectAdmin control panel (not cPanel) for files, email, databases, phpMyAdmin, SSL, cron and DNS, with webmail.

The PHP version can be switched per site from the control panel, without a support ticket. How to choose a version.

SSL and security you do not have to set up

A free Let's Encrypt SSL certificate is issued and renewed automatically for each domain on the account. What that means in practice.

Getting started

A domain name is needed before buying. It can be registered with Goji or be a domain registered elsewhere; nameservers are changed to point at the hosting.

The hosting account is created automatically when payment clears, usually within a few minutes. The control-panel password is shown once through a link valid for 72 hours.

Plans are priced in Nepali rupees. Payment is by Fonepay or Wire Transfer; no foreign card is needed.

You confirm monthly or yearly again in Goji’s secure checkout, and Goji always charges its own current price. No introductory price is built into the first term: a plan renews at the listed price for the billing period chosen. Plans renew automatically and can be cancelled from the Goji dashboard. If a plan’s price ever changes, it changes for everyone on that plan.

Questions

What is shared web hosting?

Your site lives on a server that also hosts other customers’ sites, each in its own account with its own files, databases and email. It is the usual starting point for business sites, blogs and small shops because it costs far less than renting a whole server, and you do not manage the server itself.

What does the control panel do?

Every plan includes the DirectAdmin control panel (not cPanel) for files, email, databases, phpMyAdmin, SSL, cron and DNS, with webmail.

Is there an uptime guarantee?

No uptime guarantee is published.

Can I run a site that must be hosted in Nepal?

The servers are in a European data centre. There is no data centre in Nepal, so this is not the right choice if a site must be served from inside Nepal for legal, compliance or latency reasons.
